Redtooth Poker League Update

With two seasons under our belt, how are things going in the Redtooth Poker League? Season 1 was won by Mytton stalwart, Baldy, who wrapped things up at the top of the leaderboard with a week to spare. The top four in the league have qualified for the Redtooth Poker League Regional Final, held at The Grosvenor Casino in Walsall.

The four players who represented us were, of course Baldy, where he received his Winners Trophy along with all the other pub league winners, to admiring if not a little begrudging, rounds of applause. Joining him on this occasion were Dickie, Dan and myself. We fared to varying degrees of success – Dan was the first to go out of the tournament, closely followed by myself, and shortly afterwards Baldy fell. All of us sporting bad beat stories, naturally! Dickie did the best of us, going on to finish a gallant 16th place out of 120 players and carried the Mytton colours with credit. If only he’d known the top 12 went on to qualify for the National Finals, he’d have hung in there a little longer, or so he says! It was very much a learning experience for us all, with it being our first experience of Regional Finals, and the consensus was we’d do far better next time. Which, will soon to be tested as the very same four players have qualified once again for the next round of Regional Finals, to be held on 2nd September. It should be noted that the winner of Season 2 was myself, and it is I that will be collecting the winners medal this time around, no doubt to equally begrudging applause! Season 3 is already upon us, with the new season starting on on Thursday 27th July, and once again everything is to play for over the next 13 weeks. Poker Night on a Thursday is great fun, it’s competitive but friendly, and if you fancy yourself a bit of a card shark, then join us. Games begin at 8pm with registration of new players from 7.30pm.
